your consideration we have this wonderful antique Chinese Ming Dynasty celadon
glazed funerary urn with applied figurines (one is of a person, the other is a
phoenix). It is an impressive 18 1/4 inches tall and almost 7 1/2 inches in
diameter. The thick celadon glaze is worn in areas, and there are some fleabite
nicks here and there as well as some pieces missing from one of the applied
figures, but it is in incredible condition considering its size. There is a lot
of age-crazing in the glaze.
are selling a lot of Asian antiques this coming week. Some of them we purchased
at a single-owner auction from Leslie Hindman's in Chicago where they sold a
lot of ex-museum pieces, some of which we'll be offering here.
take a moment to view the many other Asian, European, and American antiques and
pieces of high-end art we're offering this week from our personal collection.

to our auction. We have decided that after years of collecting, it's time to
move the larger portion of the things we've acquired along to new owners.
Keeping and maintaining all of these things is no longer a priority for us, and
we hope you'll enjoy the large number of quality antique items that we'll be
selling over the next while, and that they find good and loving homes.
purchased many of these things on our trips in Europe and Asia, so they are
what I'd suppose you'd call fresh to the American market. Some of the things we
did purchase here in the US from reputable auction houses like James D.
Julia's, Hindman's, Rago's, Christie's, and others that we frequented. Of
course our first instinct was to sell through an auction house, but by the time
they added their commission up to the photo/insurance/etc. fees, and then
charge a very hefty buyers premium, we would be handing them about 50% of the
overall sale proceeds, and that's just not something we could stomach. So we're
using Ebay since the charge between this site and PayPal adds up to only about
15% out of the sellers end.
take the time to view our other items this week (we expect to be selling about
200 items per listing run). There is a fine collection of Asian antiques that
will be listed on Friday, French art glass like Daum, Galle, Muller Freres,
etc.; French pottery like Dalpayrat, Delaherche, Emile Decoeur, will be listed
on Saturday along with Italian art glass pieces from Fulvio Bianconi, Carlo
Scarpa, Dino Martens, Martinuzzi, Gio Ponti, and other Venini and Barovier
artists. Also listed on Saturday are some rare clocks, paintings, bronzes, and
rare Handel and Pairpoint lamps, as well as some exceptional American art glass
and pottery by William Morris and Beatrice Wood. And there are some very high
end jewelry pieces my partner is selling, including an amazing platinum ring
that houses a fancy yellow diamond of almost 4 CTW and two perfect side
diamonds adding another 2 CT's to the final presentation, complete with a
wholesale appraisal of over $50,000.00. On Sunday we'll be listing some dozens
of 18th and 19th century nautical and scientific instruments, including
chronometers and early sextants.
running this auction for 10 days so that everyone will have more than enough
time to ensure themselves that the item is what they want. We expect that any
questions will be asked prior to auction end, because there will be no returns
for buyer's regret. If we have misstated something obvious, we'll of course
take back the item and issue a refund, but as Ebay makes the seller pay for
shipping and insurance both ways, it becomes prohibitively expensive for a
seller, so again, please make sure that you intend to follow through with the sale.
items have already been packaged with the utmost care, always erring on the
side of safety, and are mostly double boxed. Some of the highly fragile items
will be sent by registered mail, which takes a little longer, but requires
every person handling the box to sign for its integrity. I've never had
anything arrive broken when shipped via that method. If there is an overcharge
amounting to more than a dollar or two on shipping, we will refund you the

your address particulars, an international phone number, and wait for us to

for China. All duties and import taxes are the responsibility of the buyer, and
we must state the value of the item as it is the law.
